Same structure as the rest of Ontario: a home energy assessment (about $600, refunded as a rebate), at least two qualifying upgrades, and an extra $500 bonus for completing three or more.

Attic and cathedral-ceiling insulation are available on the no-assessment path above (up to $1,250 / $750), but the same work pays more if bundled into this assessment-required tier instead: up to $1,500 for attic and $780 for cathedral ceiling/flat roof.
No major municipal loan program in Vaughan (yet)
Vaughan doesn't have a Toronto-style municipal loan program. The City offers the Climate Ready Homes Program — free consultations covering energy use, water, and available rebates, not financing — plus a small geographically-limited pilot (the Thornhill SNAP Home Retrofit Pilot) for homeowners in a specific area east of Bathurst, west of Yonge, north of Steeles, and south of Highway 407. Outside that small area, the provincial HRSP stack below is what's actually available.

Most of the rebate figures on this page assume you own a detached or freehold home and control the whole building. Vaughan has a lot of newer condo and high-rise stock, especially around the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre — here's what changes if you rent or live in a condo:
If you rent
You can't claim the structural HRSP rebates (heat pump, insulation, windows, solar) — those go to whoever owns the property. The smart thermostat rebate and small appliance rebates above may still be open to you if you're the one buying the appliance. For the bigger upgrades, the ask has to go to your landlord.
If you own a condo unit
In-unit upgrades you control yourself — a smart thermostat, an in-suite appliance, sometimes an in-unit heat pump water heater — may qualify for the rebates above with your building's approval, usually required for anything touching shared systems or exterior walls. Get that approval in writing before applying.
If it's a whole-building retrofit
Heat pumps, insulation, and solar for a whole condo building go through the condo board as a group decision rather than the single-family HRSP path on this page — the process and amounts differ, and your condo board or property manager applies, not individual owners.
