Northern top-up
Added to CleanBC Level 1 and 2 amounts for homes at or north of 100 Mile House on BC Hydro service.
Insulation
Attic, wall and basement or crawlspace work, paid per R-value added per square foot. Homes heated mainly by electricity only.
Windows and doors
$100 per opening, with a U-factor of 1.22 or lower.
Heat pump water heater
Only when it replaces an electric water heater.
Solar panels
$1,000 per kW, capped at half the cost, from an HPCN member installer.
Battery storage
Up to $1,500 on its own with solar, or up to $5,000 with Peak Saver enrolment.
EV charger
50% of a new wall-mounted Level 2 charger, plus $200 for a power-management device.

Doing the work in a sensible order
Start with the building: air sealing and attic insulation lower the heating load that the heat pump must meet. Then size the equipment to the improved house, and ask the installer to document the load calculation. If a roof or siding job is already planned, ask the contractor whether insulation can be added while the structure is open.
