BC Hydro Rebates 2026: Thermostat, AC, Furnace and Appliances
Short answer: BC Hydro's smart thermostat rebate is for baseboard heat only: BC Hydro says up to five free Mysa or Sinopé thermostats can be ordered now (how the free thermostat offer works). Appliance rebates are back from October 2, 2026: up to $200 on ENERGY STAR washers, dryers, fridges and laundry centres, and $25 on air fryers. There is no BC Hydro rebate for an air conditioner or a furnace. The biggest open rebates are up to $4,000 for a heat pump that replaces electric heat (which also cools your home), and up to $10,000 for solar plus a battery.

BC Hydro smart thermostat rebate (Mysa and Sinopé)
BC Hydro's thermostat offers are for homes heated by electric baseboards. That means line-voltage thermostats like Mysa and Sinopé. There are two ways in:

BC Hydro rebates for air conditioners: what to do instead
BC Hydro's air conditioner offer has ended. If you want cooling, a heat pump is the better buy. It cools in summer and heats in winter. If it replaces electric heat, BC Hydro pays up to $4,000, plus up to $1,000 more for installs finished by October 31, 2026.

BC Hydro furnace rebate: there isn't one
BC Hydro doesn't rebate furnaces, gas or electric. If you have a gas furnace, the only heat pump money right now is the income-qualified CleanBC program (up to $13,000 at Income Level 1, less at Levels 2 and 3). BC Hydro appliance rebates: fridges, washers, dryers
BC Hydro brought back appliance rebates on October 2, 2026, as part of its Power Smart 2.0 plan. They run to January 8, 2027 (air fryers to March 5, 2027). We read these from BC Hydro's product rebates page on October 3, 2026.

How you get it: the model must be on BC Hydro's eligible list, and you buy it from a store in BC Hydro's area. At participating stores (Best Buy, Canadian Appliance Source, Midland Appliances, RONA, The Brick, The Home Depot, Trail Appliances and Visions Electronics) the rebate comes off at checkout. Bought somewhere else? Apply online after you buy, and BC Hydro pays it as a bill credit within one or two billing periods. Air fryers are instant only, so you can't claim one after purchase.
If you're a FortisBC electric customer (for example Kelowna or Penticton), these BC Hydro offers don't apply. FortisBC has its own appliance offers.
Honest take: don't replace a working fridge just for a $75 rebate. A new one rarely pays back fast. If yours is failing before January 8, though, pick a listed ENERGY STAR model and take the money.
BC Hydro heat pump rebate application
You apply after the install, within 6 months of your invoice. The installer must be a Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN) member, and the heat pump must be on BC Hydro's eligible list. For the full $4,000, it must meet 100% of your heating at -5°C and replace electric heat. Does BC Hydro have a smart thermostat rebate?
