Trane and Carrier Heat Pumps in BC: Rebates
Short answer: Yes, a Trane or Carrier heat pump can get the same BC rebates as any other brand, as long as the exact model is on the eligible list and installed by a qualifying contractor. Rebates are based on the model's ratings, not the brand name.
What the model needs
- BC Hydro: variable-speed compressor, AHRI reference number, HSPF2 of 8.5 or more, SEER2 of 15.2 or more, and on BC Hydro's eligible list.
- FortisBC whole-home: NEEP cold-climate certified.
- CleanBC: SEER2 15.2 and HSPF2 8.5 (Region IV), variable speed, at least 1 ton.
