Common questions
Is there still a heat pump rebate in PEI?
Not for new purchases. PEI's heat pump rebates ended on April 15, 2026. If you bought a heat pump between April 15, 2025 and April 15, 2026, you can still apply online, within one year of buying it. Applications for free heat pumps are closed.
Who gets free insulation in PEI?
Homeowners with a total household income under $55,000, who live in the home all year, and whose home has a tax assessed value of $300,000 or less. Apply in person at an Access PEI office and wait for approval before any work starts.
How much is the PEI energy audit?
$99 plus HST. The province pays the rest. You need the audit before you can claim the Home Insulation Rebates, and you book it with an approved company, not with efficiencyPEI.
Can I get a federal heat pump rebate too?
The federal National Heat Pump Rebate was announced on October 8, 2026 and is expected to start in early 2027. The income line and rules are not published yet, so we do not add it to your total.
