New York Rebate Calculator 2026: What Your Utility Pays
Answer a few questions and see which New York rebates fit your home, with a source for every number.
Short answer: New York's heat pump rebate is NYS Clean Heat, paid through your electric utility. For a single-family full system it is $4,000 to $7,000 with a standard home, and $8,000 to $14,000 for a weatherized home that removes its old heating system, depending on your utility and whether you are in a disadvantaged community. Long Island is separate, through PSEG Long Island. Clean Heat and your utility's rebate are the same money, so they do not stack.

Common questions
How much is the New York heat pump rebate in 2026?
It depends on your utility and your home. For a single-family full system that keeps the old heat as a backup, Con Edison pays $2,500, National Grid, NYSEG, RG&E, Central Hudson and Orange & Rockland pay $4,000. Removing the old system raises that to $7,000 outside a disadvantaged community. Since September 1, 2026 a weatherized home gets more, up to $12,000 outside a disadvantaged community and $14,000 inside one with National Grid and Orange & Rockland. PSEG Long Island pays $4,000 to $7,500.
Does NYS Clean Heat stack with my utility rebate?
No. NYS Clean Heat is the utility rebate. It is run by Central Hudson, Con Edison, National Grid, NYSEG, Orange & Rockland and RG&E, so adding both counts the same money twice.
Is there a limit on how much I can get?
Yes. Clean Heat incentives are capped at 70% of the project cost, or 85% in a disadvantaged community.
What if my income is low?
EmPower+ from NYSERDA gives free upgrades up to $12,000 upstate or $14,000 downstate to income-eligible owners and renters of 1-4 family homes. Moderate-income homes get 50% of the cost up to $6,000 or $7,000.
