Mitsubishi vs Daikin Heat Pump in BC: Rebates

By Sam Menard · Updated September 26, 2026

Short answer: The rebate doesn't depend on the brand. A Mitsubishi or Daikin model gets the same BC Hydro rebate (up to $4,000 from electric heat) or CleanBC amount if that exact model is on the eligible list and properly sized. Choose on the model's cold-weather output, the installer's experience and local service, not the logo.

What to compare between two quotes

  1. Heating output at cold temperatures (look up the exact model on the NEEP cold-climate list).
  2. Sizing: did the installer do a heat load calculation?
  3. Warranty and who does service locally.
  4. Total price for the same scope.

For a deeper brand comparison, see Mitsubishi vs Daikin vs Bosch.

What to do next

  1. Check who your electric utility is.
  2. Check whether your income qualifies for CleanBC.
  3. Get quotes from qualified contractors and apply on time.
