Why We Show You Every Vetted Installer, Not Just One

Most rebate-matching sites sell your info to the highest bidder. We built something different, and it changed as we grew.

Quick quiz: hiring a contractor

Six questions for before you sign. Tap an answer to see why.

1. Which is the best sign when a contractor talks about sizing?

A proper calculation protects you from a machine that is too big or too small.

2. What should be on a quote besides the price?

A detailed quote makes quotes comparable.

3. How many quotes should you get?

Three shows you the range in price, equipment and plan.

4. What should you check before you hire?

Ask for proof, and check any program's registered list if the rebate needs it.

5. A contractor asks for most of the money up front. What is wise?

A small deposit and staged payments protect both sides.

6. Why read Google reviews rather than just the stars?

Look for patterns about timing, cleanup and follow-up.

Where we started

Early on, our model was deliberately narrow: one vetted installer per city. The thinking was simple — no bidding wars, no five contractors calling you the same afternoon, one trusted relationship. For a handful of cities, that worked.

Why we changed it

As we expanded past a handful of BC cities into Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, and Massachusetts, "one installer per city" stopped making sense. A single relationship works when you're small. It doesn't scale, and more importantly, it doesn't actually serve homeowners as well as giving them real choice.

Our installer directories — built from verified Google ratings, reviews, and specialties — now show every qualifying installer in your city, filterable by heat pump or solar specialty. You browse, you compare ratings and reviews, you pick. No lead auction, no forced single match, no data sold to the highest bidder.

What stays the same

What hasn't changed: we still never auction your contact information. No installer pays to be the "match" you're pushed toward. You browse real, rated businesses and choose — the model got broader, not the principle.
