How to claim it
Solar and battery rebates don't require a home energy audit like insulation or heat pumps do — the money is applied at installation instead.
- Choose an HPCN-registered CleanBC contractor in Vancouver — required for eligibility since June 1, 2026
- Your system needs to be reviewed and approved to connect to the grid through BC Hydro's self-generation service before the rebate is paid
- The contractor applies the rebate directly, reducing your upfront cost rather than reimbursing you later
- Once your interconnection is approved, the rebate is processed in 30–45 business days
