The smaller purchase-based items on this page, like the $100 smart thermostat rebate and the $25–$200 appliance rebates, are tied to buying the product itself — check the official homerenovationsavings.ca terms to confirm whether you personally qualify to claim one as a tenant. If you want the bigger upgrades, the ask has to go to your landlord — point them to this page.
In-unit upgrades you control yourself — a heat pump water heater, an in-suite heat pump, in-suite windows — may qualify for the rebates above, but anything touching shared systems or the building's exterior typically needs your condo corporation's written approval first, since HRSP applications require proof the work was authorized.
Cambridge's RetrofitWR loan (up to $40,000 at 2.5% fixed, repaid through your GrandBridge Energy bill) is described for individual GrandBridge Energy customers rather than as a multi-unit condo program, so confirm directly with the Region of Waterloo whether a condo corporation can apply on behalf of a whole building.
