How much rebate you get
BC Hydro and CleanBC programs offer up to $5,500 for insulation in Kelowna. The exact amount depends on your income and the scope of your project.
Who qualifies
- You own your home in Kelowna
- Your current system matches the upgrade type (e.g., gas furnace for a heat pump upgrade)
- Your HPCN-certified installer files the rebate claim
- Income-qualified households see higher rebates
How to claim it
- Get an EnerGuide pre-upgrade assessment (required for CleanBC, your contractor arranges it)
- Get quotes from HPCN-certified installers in Kelowna — DIY installs don't qualify for any program
- Work is installed — keep the invoice and photos
- Apply to CleanBC (contractor usually files this) and separately to BC Hydro and/or FortisBC, whichever services your home — each has its own application, typically within 90 days of your invoice date
- Rebates arrive on separate timelines: CleanBC in 4–8 weeks, BC Hydro and FortisBC in 4–6 weeks each
